Two of our very dedicated and long-serving volunteers attended a prestigious event in London last week.

Norma, who helps out with events in the hospice and on our committees, and Stephen, who works tirelessly to keep our hospice gardens so beautiful, were invited to the special ‘Together at Christmas’ royal carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

The 1,600-strong congregation was made up of people from across the UK who have shown kindness towards others in their communities – in their own families, through their work or volunteering.

Norma and Stephen earned their places thanks to their amazing contributions to our charity, which includes volunteering for 40 years between them.

In good company

Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince and Princess of Wales, were present along with HRH Prince George, HRH Princess Charlotte, HRH Prince Louis and other members of the Royal Family.

There were musical performances by Gregory Porter, JP Cooper, Paloma Faith and Olivia Dean.

An unforgettable experience

Norma said: “It was the most wonderful and memorable occasion that I will remember for the rest of my life.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity.”
